This free session will take place on 16 September 2021 from 9am-10am BST, and will provide a practical overview of the challenges presented in safeguarding children and young people in a changing world, with a focus on the impact of lockdowns. Stuart Murphy, Assistant Principal – Pupil Development & Well-being, at a leading independent day school, will share his experience of managing day-to-day safeguarding issues, how to have difficult conversations with parents and students, and working with external agencies and organisations. As dance school leaders, you are not experts, this session will explore how to respond to safeguarding issues with empathy and pragmatism within your own schools and dance class environments. Stuart will lead the session, sharing his insights and encouraging questions and group discussion. Register your interest here.

In July 2021 we were delighted to host The Curator’s Cutin celebration of On Point: Royal Academy of Dance at 100. The online event featured fascinating insights from the display’s co-curators, Jane Pritchard (Dance Curator, V&A) and Eleanor Fitzpatrick (Archives and Records Manager, RAD), transporting the audience inside the V&A to the heart of the display.
