FoE Lecturer Katy Chambers shortlisted for two One Dance UK Awards

We are delighted to announce that Katy Chambers, Dance Science Lecturer in the Faculty of Education, has been shortlisted in two categories for the One Dance UK Awards: The Dance Healthcare Practitioner Award which is for individuals who show exceptional clinical practice in their chosen specialism, and the Dance Science Award, which recognises a dance scientist who is making a significant positive impact on dancers’ health, well-being and performance.

The One Dance UK awards have been developed to recognise the outstanding contribution of professionals and practitioners working in dance. The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony at the end of the on Saturday 9 November. To read the full shortlist, visit the One Dance UK website.

Katy has also received a nomination for the International Association for Dance Medicine and Science Dance Educator Award. The winner will be announced during the closing remarks of the 2019 conference in Montreal this weekend.

Recent BA (Hons) Ballet Education graduate, Jodie Nunn has also become a One Dance UK Dance Ambassador. One Dance UK’s Dance Ambassadors are proactive, creative and confident young people from across the UK. They learn about the varied work of One Dance UK and advocate for the organisation and its activities across their networks, liaising with decision makers and stakeholders in their region and nationally. Dance Ambassadors provide a crucial ‘youth voice’ in One Dance UK’s advocacy work.
